Dr. Prince attained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology (with a minor in the Psychology of Crime and Justice) in 2004 from Mercyhurst College (Erie, Pennsylvania) and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology in 2006 from Nova Southeastern University (Fort Lauderdale, Florida). Throughout her graduate training, Dr. Prince worked with adolescents and adults in outpatient, inpatient, and forensic settings. She provided clinical therapy services as well as diagnostic evaluation services. She completed an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited pre-doctoral internship at the Bureau of Prisons United States Federal Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri. Primary responsibilities included providing individual and group therapy to inmates with a range of psychological and characterological difficulties, conducting risk assessments for civilly committed patients or patients nearing the end of a prison sentence, completing court-ordered forensic assessments of pre-trial defendants (i.e., competency, criminal responsibility, dangerousness), conducting competency restoration treatment groups, and administering psychological and neuropsychological assessment and treatment services to medical/surgical patients. Dr. Prince attained her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in 2009. She has been licensed to practice psychology in the state of New York since 2010.

Dr. Prince has worked with various state agencies, including the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH), providing therapy services and violence and sexual risk assessments. She has provided expert witness testimony as a psychiatric examiner related to the civil management of sex offenders in New York State under Article 10 of the Mental Hygiene Law (Sex Offender Management and Treatment Act [SOMTA]).
